“Parasite” starring Cho Yeo-jeong, a graduate of Dongguk University’s Department of Theatre and Film, won the top Palme d’Or award at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, which was held at the Grand Theatre Lumiere in Cannes, France.

The film begins with Ki-woo (Choi Woo-shik), the eldest son in Ki-taek’s (Song Kang-ho) family who are all jobless, finding a job as a highly-paid tutor at CEO Park (Lee Sun-kyun) and Yeon-kyo’s (Cho Yeo-jeong) home. As the two families get entangled in each other’s lives, the story takes an unexpected turn.

Cho Yeo-jeong was praised for her natural portrayal of “Yeon-kyo,“ a young and beautiful madam in the film.

Cho Yeo-jeong has been seen in a variety of works, since her debut in 1997, including, “The Servant (2010),” “Obsessed (2014),” and “Ms. Perfect (2017).” She has been recognized for her acting skills through various awards including the 14th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival - Fantasia Award, the 31st Blue Dragon Film Awards - Popular Star Award, and the 34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards - Best Supporting Actress Award.
